Handwara explosion: After daughter, mother succumbs to her injuries in Sgr hospital | KNO

Srinagar, May 29 (KNO): Two days after her daughter was killed in an explosive blast at Taratpora area of Handwara in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, a woman who was undergoing treatment at Srinagar’s hospital, succumbed to her injuries on Saturday. The mother-daughter duo suffered injuries on May 27 at their native place wherefrom both were evacuated to a health center. However, the daughter identified as Gulnaza Bano succumbed to her injuries and was declared brought dead at District Hospital Handwara. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the injured woman succumbed to her injuries at Super-specialty hospital Shireen Bagh in the intervening night of Friday- Saturday. He said that the deceased was operated on the day she was referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment. The official said that the deceased has suffered critical injuries including in her both limbs and lower abdomen. Notably, on May 27 in a blast at Taratpora area of Handwara, a shell-like material went off. The officials had said that duo had brought the material from the forest while collecting the regional famous vegetable "Daaid" and had kept that under the open sky. Police had registered a case under relevant sections and initiated further inquiry and probe into the matter to verify the exact nature and facts of the incident—(KNO)
